Nolan's Timeline!

*Earlier times.. - Since Nolan was 16 he was fascinated that a person had the       awareness to hold a dream once you woken from it. #lucid dream.
*2001 - Nolan writes a 80 page treatment on the concept of his idea of dream stealer's. 

*Late 2001 - Nolan decided to present his treatment to Warner Bros to think about.
*2005 - Nolan wanted to gain more experience in larger scaled films. 
He then went on to direct three big money films whilst also he co wrote one of the three films.

*Late 2008 - After working on The Dark Knight, Nolan spent a further six months polishing up the script for 'Inception', whilst also changing the genre from an envisioned horror film to an American Science Fiction (Sci-Fi).
*11th Feb 2009 - Warner Bros Purchased the 'Inception' script.
